50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind

As part of my 101 in 1001 challenge, I am answering these questions. Here goes nothing!

  1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? 25- I'd be further in my life, but still young enough to enjoy it
  2. Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying
  3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Because we are creatures of habit and comfort, and don't want to branch off.
  4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? As of right now, no. Starting now, I want to change it.
  5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? The hatred. Loving is so much easier
  6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Interpreting, translating, or working with children in a psychiatric hospital. Those kids need help, and need people who care
  7. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? Settling...
  8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? I'd love more, care less, and just do
  9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? probably more than some. I've made my choices for me, not because someone else wants me to.
  10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? OOO good one. Doing things right probably...
  11. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do? Stop them. Talk about her good sides. Tell them talking about people like that is hurtful and not constructive. They should get to know her before they judge
  12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? Don't let others tell you who you can be
  13. Would you break the law to save a loved one? Depends on what the law was, and if they were asking or if it were of my own volition
  14. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? Jackson Pollack anyone?
  15. What’s something you know you do differently than most people? Organize. Most definitely
  16. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? Because everyone is their own person. Putting things "in order" doesn't make everyone happy, and having chaos certainly doesn't make me happy.
  17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What's holding you back? Having a kid. We just can't right now

  18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? Michigan isn't my home anymore. It is hard to get used to that. My family is still there, but I need to accept that Hattiesburg has to be home for at least the next 5 years
  19. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? Spain! It is beautiful, there is so much history, and the Spanish!!
  20. Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? I push it twice because my OCD demands it :)
  21. Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? Joyful simpleton. Sometimes it is easier to not be a genius.
  22. Why are you, you? Because I don't want to be anyone else
  23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? I'd like to think so
  24. Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? Losing touch with one right near you
  25. What are you most grateful for? My family.
  26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? If I lost all my old, I wouldn't know why I love my husband. If I couldn't make new, how could I enjoy what I have?
  27. Is is possible to know the truth without challenging it first? Challenging it makes it more worthwhile
  28. Has your greatest fear ever come true? Not yet. I hope it doesn't
  29. Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now? no. It doesn't matter. It made me who I am today
  30. What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special? Family Christmas at Great Grandmas- the whole family was together
  31. At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? My wedding day
  32. If not now, then when? There's always tomorrow, but why wait?
  33. If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose? My self
  34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever? Most definitely. Best feeling ever
  35. Why do religions that support love cause so many wars? Because they see and want to manifest love differently. And if someone doesn't love their way, then they must be wrong.
  36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil? no, because evil will disguise itself
  37. If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job?No, I'd pay off loans, buy a car, and save the as much as possible (don't need a house yet). And you gotta have a job to keep up after the million is gone
  38. Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing? more work I enjoy doing
  39. Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before? Not this one nope
  40. When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in? The day I fell in love
  41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today? My family
  42. Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous? No. My husband thinks I am gorgeous. Fame comes with a price. I like who I am, and want to live MY life
  43. What is the difference between being alive and truly living? Truly living means having no reservations. Don't not do something just because it might hurt
  44. When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right? When you know you can
  45. If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? We don't like making mistakes. They make us feel week and vulnerable. No one likes feeling that way
  46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you? I would worry about wearing makeup or making a fool of myself. I'd be my loud, obnoxious self
  47. When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing? Last night, when I couldn't fall asleep
  48. What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love? I love my husband. I hope my actions show that every day
  49. In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that? I hope certain things stick in my head, but they don't all have to
  50. Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you? It is a joint effort- what is right for both of us together at this point
